Arends has successfully managed both start-up and established companies. He is the former CEO of Security Life Insurance Company Limited overseeing all aspects of the business. He has extensive financial experience through his years as the Chief Financial Officer of Counsel Trust, CanWest Trust and Morgan Trust in Canada. Arends was also one of the founders and Managing Directors of Lauridon Sports Management Inc., which develops and manages sports and entertainment facilities.

Most recently, as Executive Vice President of the Retail Finance Solutions division (RFS), Arends has provided the strategic leadership to take the company’s operations from start-up to becoming a leading player in its industry sector today. RFS provides lending solutions for major financial institutions, manufacturers and retailers.

Arends has his MBA and is a Chartered Accountant.
